IBC Hit Pick Award 20072nd October 2007 Amsterdam, The Netherlands SAMMA Solo, the world's first real-time, "complete analog videotape to digital migration solution", was acknowledged for its innovative technology at IBC 2007 with a Pick Hit award from Broadcast Engineering World. SAMMA Solo, manufactured by SAMMA Systems, the established leader in media migration, was launched as a complement to the Company's robotic-based solution designed for large analog libraries. The compact, semi-automated, affordable SAMMA Solo offers a cost-effective migration method ideally suited for transferring approximately 6000 hours or less of analog tapes to the digital domain.

SAMMA Solo encodes mathematically lossless MJPEG2000 files in real-time in addition to other standard formats such as MPEG 2, H.264, Windows Media and Real Media. The MJPEG2000 format allows customers to preserve and future-proof their analog assets in the best way possible. Easily operated by non-technical users, SAMMA's Analysis Engine comprises the heart of the new system that delivers multiple auto correction features and incorporates many of the same elements of the larger SAMMA robot; automatic analytics, video enhancements and extensive metadata reporting.

Winners of Broadcast Engineering's Pick Hit are members of a select group of recipients. Eligible products must meet strict criteria which includes their ability to affect some positive impact on the intended user's everyday work, offer substantial improvement over previous technology, and be priced within the reach of its target audience. Candidates are evaluated by anonymous readers of Broadcast Engineering World Edition magazine and working professionals in the broadcast, post and network and satellite industries.

"Receiving a prestigious Pick Hit is indeed an honor," commented Mark Gray, president of SAMMA Systems. "Being acknowledged with such a distinguished award illustrates that SAMMA Solo is a worthy companion to our larger SAMMA system. We are delighted that our mission to preserve the world's video heritage, regardless of the size of the organization's tape library, is gaining momentum throughout the industry."
